Weaving Dreams Since the 1990s

When we started Madina Carpets back in the early 1990s, we had no idea where the journey would take us. With limited resources and almost no experience, it was purely a leap of faith. But through years of dedication, hard work, and passion, our founder Mohammad Aslam Wani turned that small beginning into a trusted name in the world of Kashmiri carpets.

Mr. Wani not only mastered the art of carpet trading but eventually established our own in-house handmade carpet production unit—a step that marked a turning point for us. This was more than just a business decision; it was a commitment to preserving the rich and ancient art of Kashmiri carpet weaving, which remains the backbone of Kashmir’s handicraft heritage.

The Legacy of Kashmiri Carpets

Kashmiri carpets are world-renowned for their elegance, fine knotting, intricate designs, and luxurious materials like silk and wool. This tradition dates back to the 15th century, when the art was introduced in Kashmir by Persian artisans. Over time, Kashmiri weavers developed their own unique identity, creating patterns inspired by nature, Mughal art, and local folklore.

Every carpet is not just a product—it’s a story, a tradition passed down through generations.
